Ever since the gyms shut down during the pandemic, now that they are opening again, one might feel a bit lethargic to join again. While you’re among those who find it tough to hit the gym again but also don’t want to compromise on your health, a home workout is just what you need.

Home workouts are as effective as working out in the gym, which is why you shouldn’t be underestimating the power of them. All kinds of exercises such as building six pack abs, to getting triceps and biceps, be assured that you can get an enviable frame by just working out at home.

While going to the gym does have a benefit of getting to workout on the special equipment, it doesn’t mean you rule out home workout. You can workout from the comforts of your home without any equipment too. Add a twist to your home based workout by using your furniture and other household items as your makeshift equipment. If you want to know how to do a home workout with random household items, let us help you with a quick guide.

  • Chair for push ups and tricep dips: Stop using your chair as a laundry dump because it can now be modified as your workout equipment. For both these workouts, you can simply rest your hands on the chair and by throwing your body weight on your hands, you can do your push ups and tricep dips. You can use a yoga mat on the floor for added support.
  • 1.5 litres of bottle for squats: You can define the way you do your squats by making use of your 1.5 litre water bottle. Simply fill the bottle with water and hold it with both your hands, while keeping your arms stretched out. Indulge in your squats as you always do. You can even use a heavy book or a rice bag of the same weight.
  • Door frame for burpees: Burpees start off with a standard push up before you hop and jump with your arms stretched upwards. Make this exercise a bit tough by doing it under a door so that you have the goal of touching the top of your door every time you jump.
  • Toilet paper rolls for planks: Planks are versatile but rather dull because they have no variations. While you’re working out at home, you can spruce up this workout with toilet paper rolls. Start off in the classic plank position and while holding your plank, stack 4 rolls of toilet paper on top of one another before resting.
  • Towels for sliders: Your regular hand towels or paper plates can be used as substitutes for disc-like sliders. These household objects will reduce the friction between your legs and the floor, making the workout even more harder. This means you will be working your muscles to maintain balance.

These are the best home-based workouts that you can do without having to bother about hitting the gym at all.
